1. Information We Don't Collect

Cozy does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. We do not track:

• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Your browsing history or app usage patterns
• Your location data
• Device identifiers beyond what Apple requires for App Store functionality
• Analytics, behavioral data, or advertising identifiers

2. How Cozy Works

Cozy keeps processing on your Mac:

• Local Processing: Theme application happens entirely on your Mac
• Theme Storage: The free theme is included in the app. Paid themes are downloaded from our content servers after your purchase is verified, then stored locally on your device
• Offline Capability: Once a theme is downloaded, applying and using it works completely offline
• No Accounts: Cozy requires no account or sign-in. Our servers deliver theme files and do not collect or store your personal data

3. Apple App Store & Purchases

When you purchase themes or subscribe to Cozy:

• All transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store
• We never see or have access to your payment information
• Apple's privacy policy governs all transaction data
• Purchase and subscription status is verified on your device through Apple's StoreKit framework. To unlock theme downloads, the app also sends your App Store transaction identifier (an anonymous number issued by Apple) to our server, which verifies it directly with Apple. This identifier contains no name, email, or payment details
• Refund Requests: If you request a refund, Apple may ask us whether the purchased content was delivered. We reply to Apple with limited, non-personal purchase information, such as whether the theme was downloaded, to help Apple make its decision. We never share your name, contact details, or payment information. We do not have access to them in the first place

4. Permissions We Request

Cozy requests the following system permissions solely for core functionality:

• Desktop Folder Access: Required to apply custom folder icons to your Desktop folders
• Wallpaper Setting: Required to set desktop wallpapers

These permissions are used exclusively for the app's intended purpose and do not enable any data collection.

5. Data Storage

All data remains on your Mac:

• The free theme ships inside the app; purchased themes are stored locally after download
• User preferences are saved using standard macOS UserDefaults
• Desktop access bookmarks are stored securely in your app sandbox
• No cloud syncing of your personal data occurs

6. Network Connections

Cozy connects to the internet only for:

• Purchase Verification: Apple's App Store servers verify your purchase and subscription status
• Theme Downloads: Purchased themes are downloaded from our content delivery servers. Like most web services, these servers keep short-lived technical logs (including IP addresses) used solely for security and abuse prevention, never for tracking or profiling

Cozy does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

7. Children's Privacy

Cozy does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and is designed to be privacy-safe for users of all ages.

8. Your Rights

Since we don't collect your data, there's nothing for us to access, modify, or delete. You maintain complete control over your Cozy experience through:

• Your Mac's System Settings for permissions
• The app's preferences for customization
• Apple's App Store for purchase and subscription management

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page with the new date. We recommend checking this page periodically.
